Activity Descriptions

Welcome to our Rebels After The Bell Program – a place where excitement, creativity, and learning come together in a variety of engaging activities! Explore the wide range of adventures we offer, each designed to provide a unique and enriching experience for our students.

Recycled Arts: Students get creative while helping the planet by turning everyday items into amazing works of art! From cardboard sculptures to bottle-cap mosaics, this group shows how recycled materials can be transformed into something colorful, fun, and unique. It’s a hands-on way to spark imagination, practice problem-solving, and discover that art can come from anywhere, even the recycling bin!

Cooking Rebels: Dive into the world of cooking, where you'll explore every step from preparation to presentation! Not only will you learn how to make a variety of dishes, but you’ll also get to enjoy new and exciting meals each week. To top it all off, we’ll work together to create our very own Cooking Rebels Cookbook! Don’t miss out on this delicious adventure!

Dungeons & Dragons: Are you ready for an adventure full of creativity, strategy, and teamwork? Join us for the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Afterschool Program, where students embark on thrilling quests, build their own characters, and work together to solve challenges in an epic fantasy world!

Board Bosses & Chess Champs: Ready to roll the dice, make your move, and outsmart your friends? Join us for epic board battles and clever chess matches where strategy, laughter, and a little friendly competition rule the afternoon!

Iron Rebels: Join the Iron Rebels Club, where students build strength, confidence, and community through weightlifting. Guided by experienced instructors, participants learn proper techniques and progress at their own pace. Whether you're new or experienced, this club offers a supportive environment to push your limits and achieve personal goals.

Rebel Page Turners: Join our dynamic Rebel Page Turners is where passionate readers come together to explore a wide range of books, from classics to contemporary gems. We will even have the opportunity to meet some authors on our journey. Students will engage in thoughtful conversations, share unique perspectives, and reflect on in-depth discussions. Whether you're a seasoned reader or just getting started, this club offers a fun and creative way to connect with others who share your love for books.

Bike Shop: Students will roll up their sleeves to learn hands-on skills while working with bikes! From fixing flat tires and adjusting brakes to customizing their own rides, participants gain confidence and practical know-how in bike maintenance. Along the way, they build problem-solving skills, teamwork, and pride in keeping their wheels rolling, all while having fun and getting ready to ride with confidence.

Cooking Rebels-Jr. Iron Chef Edition: Cooking Rebels this session will focus on getting prepared to compete in Vermont Afterschool's Jr. Iron Chef competition.  Those participating will do so with the intent to compete in the competition which will take place March 14, 2026.

Screenless Rebels: Screenless Rebels is a chance to unplug and hang out—no screens allowed. Play games, read, talk, laugh, and connect with friends in a laid-back, fun space. Whether you’re into board games, cards, puzzles, or just chilling with a good book, this is your time to relax, be yourself, and have fun the old-school way.

Lego Madness: LEGO Madness is all about building big ideas and having fun. Create, design, and experiment with LEGO bricks while teaming up with friends or working on your own epic builds. Whether you follow a challenge or let your imagination run wild, this is the place to build, explore, and go a little LEGO crazy.
